The city will give the Fire Department $50,000 to $65,000 in tax-increment financing funds as payment for impact the fire district has experienced from the Cantera development.
Although there is little development in Cantera, the Fire Department has responded to several fire calls and construction accidents in that area, and department officials reviewed plans for the 658-acre development, Mayor Vivian Lund said.
“This will give (the fire district) a benefit in the near future, based on impact they’ve already experienced,” Lund said.
