Richardson Electronics Ltd., an electronic-component distributor in LaFox, reported its third-quarter earnings more than tripled, with net income of $972,000, or 8 cents a share, on sales of $51.3 million, up from $258,000, or 2 cents a share, on revenues of $43.1 million a year earlier. For the three quarters ending Feb. 28, Richardson earned $2.9 million, or 25 cents a share, on sales of $148.7 million, up from $915,000, or 8 cents a share, on sales of $123.1 million a year earlier.
