Jeff Fassero became the first four-game winner in the majors and Montreal had eight extra-base hits in its victory over New York.

Mike Lansing had a three-run homer and drove in four runs for Montreal, which scored five runs in the sixth inning to take the lead for good.

Fassero (4-0), the left-handed ace of the staff, allowed three runs and nine hits in six innings, striking out six and walking two.
