William Pattara, 79, a longtime resident of the Mt. Greenwood neighborhood on the Southwest Side, died Saturday at Palos Community Hospital, Palos Heights. Mr. Pattara owned and managed Peter R. Pattara Cartage, a brick cartage company in Blue Island founded by his father more than 40 years ago. He was also co-founder of and a longtime coach in the Mt. Greenwood Little League, the largest organization of its kind in the country. Survivors include a daughter, Janeen Hackman; a son, William; three grandchildren; four sisters; and two brothers. Visitation will be from 2 to 9 p.m. Tuesday in Schmaedeke Funeral Home, 10701 S. Harlem Ave., Worth. Mass will be said at 11 a.m. Wednesday at St. Favian Church, 8300 S. Thomas St., Bridgeview.
