Mark A. Self, 31, pianist, organist, singer and choirmaster, died May 18 at his parents’ home in Minden, La. Mr. Self, a resident of Oak Park, was formerly organist-choirmaster at St. Pius X Catholic Church in Stickney. He then became a substitute organist and member of the choir for Grace Episcopal Church in Oak Park. For the last three years, he served as organist-choirmaster at Christ Episcopal Church, River Forest. He also had taught piano at Westchester School of Musical Talent. Survivors include his parents, Rev. Malcolm and Janelle; his grandparents; a brother; and a sister. A memorial service will be held at 3 p.m. June 17 in Grace Episcopal Church, 924 Lake St., Oak Park.
