William Keck, 86, a Chicago architect, who with his late brother, George, created the first solar-heated home in the U.S., died May 25 in his home in Chicago’s Hyde Park neighborhood. He and his brother designed more than 800 buildings, including the “House of Tommorrow” at the 1933 A Century of Progress World’s Fair and Prairie Courts, a CHA housing complex. Survivors include his wife, Stella; and a daughter, Margaret. A memorial service will be held at 10:30 a.m. June 10 in the First Unitarian Church of Chicago, 5650 Woodlawn Ave.
