It seems pretty obvious to me that the Chicago media have forgotten that we have a professional hockey team. They are called the Blackhawks. Time and time again the Hawks get the snub from the spotlight.
This really ticks me off as an avid fan of hockey. The Hawks play second fiddle to every sport in this city. Television sports in Chicago is one big joke. All they ever talk about is the Bulls, Cubs, Sox and college sports. Then, maybe the Blackhawks. The only time television gets interested is when the Hawks are a second away from getting the trophy or they blow it.
In case you don’t know, the Hawks have a chance to drink from the Cup this year or next. Credit due to Chris Chelios, steady goaltending by Eddie “The Eagle” Belfour, not to mention Jeremy Roenick. The list goes on, but you would never know it with the coverage by the Chicago media.
The message is clear: Do your job better and watch the Hawks and let us know more about what is going on because the miser on Madison won’t let us watch on free TV.
