Avis P. Moore, 84, a professor emeritus of social sciences and the history of education at Evanston-based National-Louis University, died Thursday at Good Samaritan Hospital in Downers Grove. Ms. Moore taught for more than four decades at National-Louis. Survivors include her husband, Robert, and a brother. Services will be at 11:30 a.m. Monday in Toon Funeral Home, 4920 Main St., Downers Grove.
