David M. Robbin, president of The Kahn Realty Companies Inc., Chicago, has been elected chairman of Genesis, an international association of independent real estate organizations involved in relocation. He was elected at the group’s annual meeting which took place recently in Phoenix.
Robbin said that Genesis is exploring the evolution of the real estate industry, including trends in the interactive home communications industry, consumerism and business practices for relocation professionals.
– Jeffrey C. Smith has joined Industrial Developments International’s Chicago office as development manager for the company’s Midwest region. He will be repsonsible for project development at the Trunberry Lakes Inaternational Business Center.
– Barb Mitalo was named director of franchise affiliation for Century 21 North Central Inc’s metropolitan region. Mitalo, who has been with the metropolitan office for the last six years, most recently was senior franchise affiliation consultant.
– Kiferbaum Construction Corp., Lincolnshire, has hired two vice presidents: Paul Chuma Jr. will oversee operations from design development through project completion; Jeffrey D. Kaplan will coordinate field operations like quality assurance, safety programs and procedures.
– James C. Spencer has joined Arthur J. Rogers & Co., Des Plaines, as vice president/office properties. He will head marketing and leasing activities in the company’s Oakbrook Terrace office. Previously, Spencer was with Imperial Realty Company, Chicago.
– Debra J. Moritz was promoted to senior vice president of Jones Lang Wootton’s corporate and advisory services operating unit. She is involved in real estate strategy development, lease negotiations, joint venture structuring and restructuring, and other aspects of real estate.
– Brian Novak has been named a principal of MTI Construction Services Inc., Elk Grove Village. He joined the firm in 1990 and had been vice president in charge of estimating.
– Heitman Financial Ltd., Chicago, has hired Gary A. Decker as managing director of the company’s new corporate services group. Previously, Decker was vice president of real estate for AT&T.
– Kathryn Brown has joined U.S. Equities Realty, Inc., Chicago, as a tenant representation broker. She had been a vice president at Howard Ecker.
– Harris Bank, Chicago, hired two new regional sales managers. Ray Horan will manage the bank’s southern territory and will be based in Naperville. Jim Ziagos will be based in Palatine with responsibility for the northern territory.
– Heller Real Estate Financial Services, Chicago, has promoted David J. Friedman to manager, capital markets, a newly formed position. He has been with the company for 10 years and was previously manager of strategy and development.
– The Northern Illinois Commercial Association of Realtors has elected its officers for 1995: Tony Perry, president; Dennis Gillig, vice president; Randy Podolsky, secretary/treasurer. The organization was formed this year to represent commercial real estate profesionals in northeastern Illinois.
– Dale Schlitter has been appointed senior vice president and manager of the west suburban office of Wilmette-based Windsor Mortgage Inc. Windsor recently relocated and expanded its west suburban office in Oakbrook Terrace.
Also joining that office as loan officers were: Liz Aderton, Lynn Aument, Mark Boller, Mary Ann Carrigan, Tony Genna, Mark Holan, Suren Sampat, Debbie Schaefer and Al Scheman.
– The Counselors of Real Estate has elected its Midwest chapter officers for 1995: chairman, Christopher C. Kuehnle of Real Estate Counselors International, Inc.; vice chairman, John L. Gadd of Gadd Tibble & Associates, Inc.; secretary, Stephen B. Friedman of S.B. Friedman & Co.; and treasurer Roland J. Rives of Richard Ellis Inc.
– Robert Roggeveen has joined Benj. E. Sherman & Sons, Chicago, as president of the firm’s newly formed auction services group. He had been senior vice president at Sheldon Good & Co.
– Mark Dennis and Thomas Volini have joined Tanguay-Burke-Stratton Comprehensive Real Estate Services, Chicago, as associates in the firm’s corporate services group. Dennis spent eight seasons as an offensive tackle for the Miami Dolphins and Cincinnati Bengals.
– Judith Mitchell has been appointed director at IA Chicago, P.C. She is responsible for the direction and developent of corporate interiors projects.
– Cowhey Gudmundson Leder Ltd., Itasca, said Gary Hoerth was named project engineer for commercial and residential development. Roger S. Lockwood was appointed project engineer. Irma Ruby-Terry was made senior environmental scientist.
– Jay Beadle has been promoted to corporate managing director at Julien J. Studley Inc., Chicago. Also, Steven M. LaKind has been hired as managing director of Studley’s suburban Chicago group. He had been vice president of PM Realty Group.
