Getting your Trinity Audio player ready...

Although Scottie Pippen has been the subject of much controversy in the past year, his great basketball skills are the reason he should stay in Chicago. Forget about the trouble and think how he has helped the Bulls throughout his career.

Pippen has had a couple of brushes with the law recently. Will trading him make him a better person? Also remember the chair throwing incident and the overrated 1.8 seconds in last year’s playoffs. Both had to do with the anger and frustration of being a leader on a team not used to losing. Now that Michael Jordan is back, a lot of pressure is off Pippen.

The Bulls also will not get true value for Pippen. He is the best all-around player in the league, named to the All-NBA and All-Defensive first teams, and a potential Hall of Famer. The only players in the league who could fill the void left by Scottie’s exit are not on the trading block.

Pippen is a great help to the Bulls. To make another championship run in the near future, he has to be in the team’s plans. Losing a star player can hurt a team in more ways than one. We just saw that in Horace Grant.
