Dr. Robert H. Newell, 88, of Glen Ellyn, formerly of Oak Park, a doctor for 41 years, died Saturday in Central DuPage Hospital, Winfield. Dr. Newell practiced medicine in Chicago and Oak Park and was on the staff of West Suburban Hospital. He was a flight surgeon in the Army Air Force during World War II. He was a former chief of the medical staff of Medinah Temple. He was a member of the Chicago Medical Society and the Illinois and American Medical Associations. Survivors include his daughter, Muriel Weigel; four grandchildren; four great-grandchildren and a sister. Services for Dr. Newell will be at 11 a.m. Tuesday in the Leonard Memorial Home, 565 Duane St., Glen Ellyn.
