The city will spend more than $500,000 this summer to rehabilitate sections of 23 local roads, according to the details of the 1995 street improvement program released this week.

With the inclusion of almost $50,000 in drainage work, the total bill for the street program will come to $567,600, to be funded mainly through state motor fuel tax and vehicle sticker revenue.

Two of the biggest reconstruction projects in terms of cost and disruption to traffic routes will occur on Prairie Street between Wilson and Pine Streets, and on McKee Street between Jackson Street and Illinois Highway 31.

The state is planning to resurface Illinois Highway 31 south of Main Street and Kane County will install traffic signals at Fabyan Parkway and Raddant Road.
