Tandy Corp. unveiled updated plans for the redevelopment of the retail areas of the Tandy Center and said the downtown Fort Worth outlet mall project should be open by summer 1996.

John V. Roach, Tandy chairman and chief executive, said the 240,000-square-foot project is expected to be 75 percent leased when it opens.

The project, to be called Fort Worth Outlet Square, will have room for more than 50 tenants. Stores will specialize mostly in apparel and housewares. New restaurants will overlook a refurbished ice-skating rink.
