Alliance Gaming Corp. purchased 500,000 shares of Bally Gaming International Inc. in the open market, bringing its total number of Bally Gaming shares to 1 million, or 9.3 percent of its shares outstanding. On Monday, Alliance offered to buy Bally Gaming for $12.50 a share in cash and stock, topping a $12.08 a share bid by Chicago’s WMS Industries.
