Even though an architectural contract for the renovation of the Roselle Library is anticipated by early July, construction may not start until late summer of 1996, Dianne Lueder, the library’s executive director, said at a library board meeting Wednesday night.

The extended timetable is due to the Roselle Library District Board seeking a $250,000 state grant, which must be applied for by January 1996 but which will not be awarded until at least June or July of 1996.

High on the renovation list are plans to increase lighting, improve acoustics, form a larger number of quiet study areas, add meeting rooms, and form a larger juvenile area, in addition to better displaying the library’s collection.

A feasibility study will be conducted by Architect Larry LaRoi of LaRoi Architects Ltd., Northbrook.
