Birthday: January 10, 1949.
Birthplace: Marshall, Texas.
Occupation: I’m an evangelist. I moonlight as a boxer.
Current home: Kingwood, Texas.
Marital status: Married to Joan for 12 years.
Children: I have nine, four boys all named George and five girls, they range from 22 to four.
Working on: My autobiography, “By George” (Villard).
The last good movie I saw: “The Unforgiven.”
I stay home to watch: Reruns of “Bonanza” and “Little House on the Prairie.”
Favorite pig-out food: Cheeseburgers. There’s a barbeque in Houston that makes the best in the world.
Nickname: When I was a kid they called me Monkey; most of my relatives still do.
Favorite performer: Sammy Davis Jr.
Prized possession: My car collection. My favorite is a 1970 Dodge Swinger, tan and brown. I bought it for $600 in 1985 and had it restored. I love it.
Personal heroes: John Wayne, Roy Rogers and Jimmy Brown.
Nobody knows I’m: Still getting advice from my mother and dad.
I’ve never been able to: Control my spending.
I’m better than anyone else when it comes to: Hard work. Once I take on a task, no one can do it better, whether it’s washing a car or mopping a floor.
If I could do it over I: Would have saved my love for my final wife, Joan.
I’d give anything to meet: Steven Spielberg. He’s a bundle of talent.
I want to teach my children: To appreciate the little things. Everyone wants to accomplish something big, but I want them to enjoy just being with each other.
If I could change one thing about myself: I wouldn’t be so stubborn.
The worst advice my mother ever gave me: “Don’t be a boxer.”
If I wasn’t a boxer, I’d be: A rancher. I have 300 acres, but I’d like to have 1,800 and do it full time.
If I’ve learned one thing in life it’s: Be patient. Anything can happen.
