I was very impressed with the depth and diversity of coverage of what it means to be a father in the June 18 Tribune. I was also heartened that, earlier in the week, you printed a Tempo article on a heterosexual father dealing with his gay son.

What bothers me is your failure to deal with the issue of gay parents. Your editorials and Op-Ed features have been filled to the brim lately with stories of about fatherhood. How come not once, and especially not on Father’s Day, did the Tribune see fit to cover the issue of gay people as parents?

Despite some excellent news coverage and editorial policy, your failure to deal with gay parents shows me there is much latent homophobia to deal with at the Trib.
