Gloria N. Mitchell, 73, an artist and clerk at Northeastern University for 20 years, died Wednesday in Weiss Memorial Hospital. Mrs. Mitchell, a longtime resident of Rogers Park, served in the Women’s Army Corps in World War II. She attended the School of the Art Institute of Chicago. Mrs. Mitchell was a volunteer for Friends, a counseling center for abused women, where she answered the help hot line. She is survived by her husband, Howard; a daughter, Pamela A.; and a brother. Services for Mrs. Mitchell will be held at 10 a.m. Friday in the Weinstein Brothers Wilmette Chapel, 111 Skokie Blvd., Wilmette.
