As a Chicagoland native and a recent graduate of Indiana University, I commend your June 20 editorial titled “Bob Knight gets his comeuppance.” For the past four years while I have been at school, I have seen Knight pull a lot of stunts. He has been rude to the students of IU as well as the news media. He once threatened to kick out a group of students from a game, although they weren’t breaking any rules, and he has refused to talk to the campus news media for more than 15 years. It’s sad to see many Hoosiers take this abuse from him. He is often regarded as a king in Bloomington, and his nickname “General”reflects this notion. It’s about time he was reprimanded not only for his tantrums but also his unsportsmanlike conduct.
