I recently attempted to visit the corridor of Halsted Street that lies between Fullerton and North Avenues and found that I was unable to park because the surrounding residential streets are reserved, during certain hours, for the exclusive use of those whose residences abut these streets.

At first, I was annoyed, but then I took comfort in the fact that our tax dollars certainly aren’t being used to maintain these vast, private parking lots. They aren’t, right?
