Ellen J. Shields, 88, a World War II veteran and onetime nurse who formerly lived in Chicago, died Monday in Rivershores Nursing and Rehabilitation Center in Marseilles, Ill. She had worked as a nurse at Northwestern Memorial Hospital and served as a nurse in the Army during World War II and the Korean War. She had no immediate survivors. Visitation will be at 10 a.m. Thursday in Seals-Campbell Funeral Home in Marseilles. Services will be at 11 a.m. Thursday in the funeral home.
