William N. Kenefick, 83, a Michigan City, Ind., lawyer for more than half a century, died Thursday in St. Anthony Hospital in Michigan City. Mr. Kenefick graduated from the University of Notre Dame in 1933 and Georgetown Law School in 1938. He was a lieutenant in the Navy during World War II, serving as the chief tax officer for the Bureau of Yards and Docks. As an attorney, he was a corporate officer and director of several business enterprises, as well as a developer of marinas and commercial, medical and residential buildings. He was a former chairman of the Indiana State Port Commission. Mr. Kenefick, who lived with companion Martha Olson, is survived by a daughter, Kathleen Brennan; a son, John; and one sister. Visitation will be from 2 to 5 p.m. and from 7 to 9 p.m. Sunday in Carlisle Funeral Home, 613 Washington St., Michigan City. Services will be at 10 a.m. Monday in Notre Dame Catholic Church, 1005 Moore Rd., Michigan City.
