Regarding your Aug. 7 story headlined “Teenagers’ vegetarianism dishes up confusion in the kitchen,” by staff writer Nancy Ryan:
I found it uplifting to hear that more teens are going meatless. It is heartening to think these teens will not become burdens on our health-care system in their later years due to debilitating diseases attributed to a meat-based diet such as heart disease, stroke and obesity. Now that there is a push by our president to combat teen smoking, it is in our best interests to focus on lifestyle choices that are so costly.
