2 cups all-purpose flour
1 teaspoon each: baking powder, baking soda
Pinch salt
1/2 cup soft unsalted butter
1 cup granulated sugar
2 large eggs
1 cup sour cream
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 1/2 cups chocolate chips
Confectioners’ sugar
1. Heat oven to 350 degrees. Grease a 13- by 9-inch baking dish. Sift together flour, baking powder, baking soda and salt.
2. Beat butter and sugar in large bowl of electric mixer on high speed until light and fluffy, about 2 minutes. Add eggs, one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stop the mixer and add sour cream and vanilla. Mix in on low speed. Fold dry ingredients in lightly. Fold in chocolate chips just until combined.
3. Transfer to prepared pan, smoothing surface with a spatula. Bake until pick inserted in center comes out clean, 35 minutes. Sift confectioners’ sugar over the cake.
