Intel Corp. introduced a new Pentium-upgrade chip that gives older computers the power of its top-of-the-line processor. The new chip, called the Pentium Overdrive upgrade, can be used in machines that contain the older 486DX2 66 megahertz chip, or the 486 33 megahertz chip. The new chip is faster, running at 83 megahertz. Computer users who use the new chip will gain better performance with operating systems including Windows 95 and OS/2, Intel said.
