When a 23-year-old Schaumburg woman got a “pass” from a police officer Monday night, she found out later that it really wasn’t her lucky day.
The woman was stopped at Meacham Road and Illinois Highway 62 by a man driving a vehicle with alternately flashing headlights and a siren, police said. The man, who was not in uniform, identified himself as a police detective and ordered her out of the car, police said. He became abusive, calling her names, police said.
The “detective” then took her driver’s license, gave her a field sobriety test and conducted a “pat down” body search, police said.
The man told the woman it was “her lucky day,” returned her license and drove away in a white two-door Chevrolet Caprice, authorities said.
