The City Council, by a vote of 3-1, agreed to sign a U.S. Army Corps of Engineers permit Wednesday night committing the city as a partner with Boone Creek Ventures in the construction of a bridge across Boone Creek.

The bridge will be built on city property. It will connect Dartmoor Drive, which now ends short of the creek, to a 180-acre subdivision proposed by Boone Creek Ventures.

McHenry has projected that the west side of town would be developed in five parcels, including the Boone Creek development. The five parcels would extend west from existing city limits to Curran Road, south to Bull Valley Road and north just short of Illinois Highway 120.
