Will we ever learn? The abuse under the mining law goes on and on. Your Sept. 10 editorial really got my attention, as I am reading Harry M. Caudill’s “Night Comes to the Cumberlands.” It depicts the ugliness of mining in the Cumberland Plateau, and it reinforces your statements that suggest reforming the Mining Act of 1872–long overdue.
