Robert E. Wiggins, 84, a charter member of the Wonder Lake Fire and Rescue Squad and a volunteer deputy sheriff with the McHenry County Sheriff’s Department, died Wednesday in Memorial Medical Center in Woodstock. He was born in Chicago and was an employee of Illinois Bell for 37 years until his retirement in 1974. He is survived by his wife, Helen; two daughters, Marian Stelter and Carol Fulton; four grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. Visitation will be from 9 to 11 a.m. Friday in Schneider, Leucht, Merwin and Cooney Funeral Home, 1211 N. Seminary Ave., Woodstock. Services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday in the funeral home.
