“In a Dark, Dark Room,” Alvin Schwartz.
“Where the Wild Things Are,” Maurice Sendak.
“Green Eggs & Ham,” “The Cat in the Hat,” and “El Gato Ensombrerado” (“The Cat in the Hat” in Spanish), Dr. Seuss (Theodor Geisel).
FYI: “Green Eggs & Ham” was the most popular book, juvenile or adult, among all library borrowers.
