On Monday National Public Radio reported on a trial of great impor-tance–the trial of the 10 Islamic radicals who had been found guilty of plotting to blow up buildings and assassinate citizens here.

The most remarkable fact was that I hadn’t heard of the trial in a long time, as I suspect most other Americans hadn’t. I suggest we all have something to learn in thinking about why a football legend could captivate the public while a group of men being found guilty of wanting to blow up people and property could go virtually unnoticed.
