Curtis Conway said in your sports section of Oct. 9 that the fans shouldn’t boo when a Bear makes a boo-boo.
In the past 15 years, I have seen the NFL and major-league baseball players go into hysterics celebrating a great play. Sometimes when a player makes a sack of the quarterback, the tackler will run around appearing as if he is milking a cow. His hands go up and down, seemingly milking the fans for loud cheers.
Well, if players can act goofy when they “do good,” I think the fans can act goofy and lustily boo.
If the players want to act goofy when they make a good play, they should get on their knees and ask forgiveness of the fans when they miss a tackle, miss an assignment, or strike out in a crucial situation.
If the players want to act like “spoiled brats,” they should be treated that way.
