The Million Man March was an important event not just for African-American men, but for all Americans. If they came out of it with a greater sense of responsibility for the community and their families, eventually it will benefit all of society.
People have said the media reaction would have been much more critical if a million white men decided to hold such a gathering, but they seem to forget that there is such an event. It is called the Republican National Convention.
