The Army has charged a Ft. Bragg, N.C., soldier at the elite 82nd Airborne Division with murder and attempted murder in a sniper attack that left one soldier dead and 20 injured.

Sgt. William Kreutzer, an infantry squad commander, was accused in the Oct. 27 attack, in which a soldier, hidden in woods and armed with three guns above a sports field, shot at 1,300 soldiers exercising below.

After the attack, several soldiers tackled and subdued Kreutzer, 26., who is from Clinton, Md.
