Bliss & Laughlin Industries Inc. reported its fiscal fourth-quarter profits fell 79 percent, to $350,000, or 9 cents a share, from $1.6 million, or 42 cents a share, in the year-earlier period.
The Harvey-based maker of cold-finished steel bars said revenues in the quarter, ended Sept. 30, slipped 3 percent, to $37.4 million from $38.5 million.
Fiscal 1995 earnings rose to a record $5.2 million, or $1.31 a share, from $3.5 million, or 90 cents a share, in fiscal 1994.
Bliss & Laughlin last month agreed to be acquired by BRW Steel Corp. for $37.7 million.
