The Village Board has approved $110,850 for capital improvements and maintenance of the Hinsdale Community Swimming Pool, 500 W. Hinsdale Ave.

The 26-year-old pool, which attracted about 75,000 visitors last summer, was rebuilt in 1993 using a $2.95 million bond issue. “We made a concerted effort to bring the project in under budget,” said Robert Kotula, superintendent of recreation services. “The swimming pool project has a fund balance of $200,000.”

Just over half of that will be used for capital improvements and routine maintenance.
