The village will allow its Community Events Commission to spend up to $10,000 without council sanction from now on, Village Council members agreed Monday.
The commission previously was allowed to spend only $5,000 at one time without approval. The limit affected the speed with which the commission’s community grants subcommittee could respond to requests for financial assistance.
Expenses of less than $10,000 traditionally have been approved by the village manager for other village commissions.
