In regard to Joan Beck’s column titled “Amazing tricks/Don’t put much faith in the Republicans’ hype about fixing Medicare with Medical Savings Accounts” (Op-Ed, Oct. 26).
Three things (among others) about Joan Beck: She writes insightfully and concisely; she writes with intelligence, revealing a thorough researching of her subjects; and she writes objectively, unswayed by partisanship.
Of course, I do not agree with everything she thinks . . . but I do not always agree with everything I think.
The column referred to above dealt with a subject that was new to me, and one that is being used by the GOP to push seniors into managed-care organizations. Being a senior (knocking on 80’s door), I was grateful for this column.
