The Cook County Sheriff’s Police Department issued 150 tickets during two south suburban roadside checkpoints over the weekend.
Among the tickets were three for driving under the influence of alcohol, 11 for failure to wear seatbelts and one for improper child-restraint seating. More than 700 cars passed through the checkpoints at U.S. Highway 30 and Cottage Grove Avenue in Bloom Township and 132nd Street and La Grange Road in unincorporated Palos Township.
