A police officer will not be charged in the death of a furniture store employee who was accidentally shot during a robbery while he was bound and lying face down on the floor. Officer Roy Raymer, a 15-year veteran, acted properly when he confronted two armed robbers inside Nationwide Warehouse and Storage on Dec. 9, Macomb County Prosecutor Carl Marlinga said Friday. An investigation showed one of the robbers ambushed Raymer from behind, brandishing a rifle. Raymer fired twice and the robber fired three times. A bullet from Raymer’s gun struck the employee, who was handcuffed on suspicion that he was one of the robbers, police said.
