An early morning fire Saturday that stretched across the back of a three-story Irving Park apartment building left a 9-year-old boy critically injured.
The boy, whom authorities did not identify, was being treated for smoke inhalation at Lutheran General Hospital in Park Ridge.
Firefighters were called to the eight-unit building at 4104-16 N. Bernard St. shortly after 2 a.m.
Three other residents were treated at hospitals and released.
