Edward J. Thullen, 62, vice president and regional manager for Protection Mutual Insurance Co., died Tuesday at his home in Seattle. A Chicago native, Mr. Thullen was a graduate of Tilden Tech High School, received his bachelor’s degree from the Ilinois Institute of Technology and his master’s degree from the University of Chicago. He worked as an inspecting engineer and rater for the Cook County Inspection Bureau. In 1967, Mr. Thullen joined Protection Mutual as a salesman in the Park Ridge and Elmhurst offices. Survivors include his wife, Connie; two daughters, Mary and Leslie; and two sons, Christopher and Peter.
