I read and reread the Jan. 16 story (Main news) about the “new face” for Lake Shore Drive and State Street, but I failed to find a single mention of the critical matter of parking.

If the current pattern of Loop parking is what we can expect, there will be a vast number of super-expensive meters accompanied by even greater areas of curb marked Tow Zone, Loading Zone along the entire one-mile stretch of State Street getting the face lift.

Oh yes, the traffic will give the appearance of revival, but I predict that State Street merchants will not see a revival of sales that the hype would want you to believe.
