Police were investigating a report by a security guard at an office complex that he was assaulted and then handcuffed by an armed man.
A security guard for the building at 102 Wilmot Rd. in the Hyatt Hotel office complex told police Friday that a man in his mid-30s demanded entry to the facility shortly after 5 a.m. and brandished a .38-caliber revolver when the guard refused, said Police Chief Pat Anderson.
The guard said he struggled with the man but was overcome and left handcuffed in an elevator, police said. The guard used an emergency phone inside the elevator to call police. Anderson said nothing was missing from the building. The guard suffered minor facial injuries.
