Police on Tuesday were looking for a man who rode his bicycle into a local auto dealer over the weekend, took a used Mercedes for a spin and never returned.
The man rode into Field Saab Volvo, 1121 S. Milwaukee Ave., Saturday afternoon and asked to take the car for a test drive. He was allowed to do so unaccompanied and did not return, police investigator Sgt. Erv Schamal said.
The car is a yellow 1977 Mercedes 300E 4-door worth a reported $1,500, police said.
The man left identification with the dealership and police were looking for him Tuesday.
