The Village Board on Tuesday night agreed to hold a public hearing on the request from Ameritech Cellular Services to install wireless telecommunications antennas on the village’s new water tower.
Village officials previously had sent Ameritech back to the drawing board several times to come up with an antenna design and configuration that would not create an eyesore on the water tower,located off Interstate Highway 290 near Devon Avenue.
The proposed antennas would be hidden in a special enclosure below the tower’s bulb or tank.
