Lack of parking was a major concern cited by downtown business owners at a recent gathering to kick off the village’s Main Street downtown revitalization program.
But a new village valet ordinance may bring both restaurant owners and patrons relief.
The proposed ordinance, patterned after Chicago’s, would allow businesses to provide valet parking if owners set up a safe dropoff point close to the establishment and agree that cars will be parked at an off-street location.
At most downtown establishments, patrons must park along the streets or in the municipal lot.
