Members of the Chicago City Council Committee on Historical Landmark Preservation will meet to discuss several properties that have been recommended for landmark status by the Commission on Chicago Landmarks. Those properties include the Hotel St. Benedict Flats and the Hawthorne Place District, both in the 42nd Ward, as well as Essanay Studios, in the 46th Ward.

The Hawthorne Place District was the site of a coach house that was recently demolished with the approval of a now-fired assistant city building commission.

11 a.m. Monday in Room 201A at City Hall.
