Arthur Thomas Wellman, 84, a Chicago native, died of heart failure Wednesday in Central DuPage Hospital in Winfield. Mr. Wellman was assistant vice president of Chicago’s Harris Trust & Savings Bank. He had been with the bank for 35 years when he retired in 1967. He was a longtime member of St. John Lutheran Church in Wheaton, serving on its board and on the Lutheran Child Welfare Association. Survivors include his wife, Dorothy; a son, Arthur; a daughter, Ruth; two stepsons, Paul and Harold; a stepdaughter, Jean; a brother; a sister; and eight grandchildren. A memorial service will be held at noon Tuesday in St. John Lutheran Church, 125 E. Seminary Ave., Wheaton.
