Digital Equipment Corp. and Hewlett-Packard Co. are sharing a three-year contract with a potential value of nearly $600 million to supply computer workstations to the government. The contract gives U.S. agencies the opportunity to buy workstations running Microsoft Corp.’s Windows NT or Digital’s UNIX 4.0 operating systems.
